We would like to express our deep gratitude to The Delaware Law School Bar Association for organizing a beautiful memorial in honor of our boy Garret David Christino.
The Law School Administration partnered with the Student Bar Association to dedicate a bench and to plant a tree which sits on the main green at Delaware Law School in honor of Garret.
We were honored to hear such precious memories and sentiments along with some smiles shared by Adam and Kiki during the memorial service. The service was also attended by loved ones of Garret and the loved ones of another young man who sadly lost his life during his second year of law school.
While most of you may know Garret was not able to attend all but orientation week of his law school journey but the months/weeks leading up to this next chapter upon UD graduation Garret had expressed much excitement and enthusiasm along with doubt for this next chapter.
In true Garret fashion he simply could not wait to participate in the many clubs and activities and had already forged many friendships with incoming freshman students.
We know Garret would have been able to achieve great things in this next chapter which was sadly stolen from him and from all of us who love him.
While our hearts continue to break for all that was not meant to be , the Christino family is forever honored that Widener University Delaware law school chose to honor our boy by hearing and learning more about him through his peers and loved ones.
We are especially grateful the school has chosen to memorialize his legacy By having a space where all students can reflect and may happen to see his name and learn a little bit about him along their own law school journey.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone that was involved in helping to keep the legacy of our son very much alive.
