“It is an honor and privilege to serve on the advisory board for The Garret Cares Organization. The Christino’s are a second family to me and Garret was and is a true light in my life. For the organization, I create and post content on our social media platforms. I am constantly learning new things about Garret’s life and reading new memories from friends and family. Although we would all much rather have him still here on Earth with us, serving on this board has helped keep Garret alive in my heart and makes me feel close to him.”

“It is my honor to serve on the advisory board for Garret Cares. Garret and the Christino family are what I call my “chosen family”. When describing Garret to others, I always called him my little cousin. Garret truly is a light in my life, and I am so grateful for all of the time I got to spend with him. The happiness and laughter we shared in his too short life are a blessing that I continue to cherish. Even though Garret was younger than me, I am in awe of the person he was and how he balanced all factors of his life so well. As a member of the Garret Cares board and social media team, I try to live by Garret’s words “reach out more” to help keep his spirit alive.”

Nimi Srivastava Meschke
Human Resources Leader
Proud Aunt of Garret

“I am honored to serve on the advisory board of Garret Cares. Even if Garret wasn’t family, I would happily serve on this committee and support others in living the values so endearing to Garret. I have known Garret for his entire life, literally. I was in the hospital the night he was born and it was so fun to watch him grow up, and become the man we all remember him to be. He was an amazing nephew, a very fun cousin to my kids, Andrew and Rina, and to this day whenever we speak of him (which is very often) we always have smiles on our faces. We carry Garret in our hearts every day, and through this foundation, can carry on his legacy.”

Rob Fisler
Board Member
Garret’s Uncle

“My name is Rob Fisler, and I am Garret’s Uncle. His Aunt Nimi and I got together 5+ years ago, and even though I only had the good fortune of spending a few family events with Garret, they were all awesome! Garret is a smart, fun, and easy to get along with young man, and my kids, Aubrey and Robbie, and I were very happy to know and have him in our lives. Whenever the Srivastava crew got together, Garret always ensured my kids felt included, and Elina still does this to this day. I serve on the Board with our family and friends because it is important to me that everything Garret stood for lives on.”

Friend, Neighbor, Family

“The Christino family and the Trimboli family have been friends and neighbors for many years with Garret, Dylan, and Elina being friends since before elementary school. I strongly believe in all of the principles that Garret lived by and have been trying to reach out more since his tragic passing as a tribute to his memory. The ties that we have made is a source of support and love and the wealth of friends that feel like family is overwhelming. I am privileged to be a member of the board of directors for an organization that honors Garret’s memory as well as leadership, education, and community service.”

“I did not have to think twice when I was asked to become a board member of Garret Cares. Garret was, and always will be, the number one person in my life. Having met Garret at the ripe young age of one, we spent nearly every moment we could together. His compassion and empathy for others is something we should all take inspiration from, and is exactly what we strive to push forward here at Garret Cares. He is the greatest person I’ve ever gotten to know, and to continue his legacy through this foundation is the greatest honor. I look forward to working with our amazing team to provide our community with events, give backs, and apparel to remind us all of the incredible human Garret is.”

“Having known the Christino family for 12 years, I saw Garret grow from a teenage boy to a young adult.  I was always amazed by his presence and his infectious enthusiasm.  Whether it was friends, family, or us neighborhood moms, Garret would always light up the room.

Garret was so very special to my family and he wanted to make the world a better place.  I’m privileged to be a part of this organization, supporting important causes, and honoring his memory.”

“I am lucky to have been part of Garret’s life and grateful to be part of this foundation honoring him. Garret was one of a kind. He was an amazing friend, and someone I always wanted to be around. His laugh and positivity were contagious, and his humor brightened up my day. I had so much fun with Garret, always laughing and joking no matter what we were doing. He brought so much joy to my life, and I feel lucky to have made so many great memories with him that I will cherish forever. I miss my crazy, funny best bud, and I feel so lucky to have known him. I am honored to be part of keeping his memory alive and supporting the things he believed in and cared about ♡”

Robert Trimboli
Garret Cares Board Member
Family Friend and Neighbor

“When we moved into our neighborhood over 25 years ago my family and the Christino family became fast friends. Our son Dylan and Garret loved mischief and they both had the energy of a thousand fireflies. We would laugh at their antics as our families bonded and Elina would always find a way to keep up with them. Since Garret’s passing our bonds have strengthened and grown. Being on the board of directors has brought us from good friends to family. It is an honor to be part of a group that will keep Garret’s memory forever in our hearts and minds.”
