Garret made the most of his experience during his time at University of Delaware. The 4 years Garret spent earning his degree with majors in Criminal Justice and Psychology and minors in Spanish and legal studies were also spent contributing and leading in organizations that connected with his many interests. On December 5, 2021 a beautiful ceremony was held to dedicate an honoring plaque for Garret’s legacy at UD displayed in Trabant Hall. This plaque is located just outside of the very classroom where Garret led his executive board meetings with Beta Theta Pi of which he was a founding father and the chartering president.
The University of Delaware Administrators , the Beta Theta Pi Brothers and some close family and friends gathered to share memories and inspiring stories of Garret. It was a testament to all of the love Garret put into his UD life and making the most of his 4 years. We are honored and grateful to have our Garret’s legacy continue in an environment that enabled his love of learning , connecting and leading through his commitment of leaving his world a bit better.
The Garret Cares Foundation awarded scholarships to the 2020 and 2021 Chapter Presidents. A donation was also made by the Christino Family to the UD Student Leadership Fund to support budding leaders currently attending the University who wish to enhance their academic experiences.
